KENAFF NATIONAL TREE PLANTING WEEK


The KENAFF National Tree Planting Week was held on the 10 th -17 th of April 2021 across her member counties. The rallying call was to plant trees for posterity under the theme, “Planting and Nurturing trees for Recovery, Restoration, Health and Wealth.”

As the country seeks to achieve the 10% forest cover by the year 2022, KENAFF is working to complement the government’s effort in accelerating the realization of the set target in a bid to tackle climate change. KENAFF is championing the planting of 50 billion trees over the next ten years (2021-2030) and this ambitious project can only be realized through the support and efforts of the farmers of Kenya.

The tree planting exercise took place in the following counties;

1. Uasin Gishu County

2. Makueni County

3. Siaya County

4. Kakamega County

5. Kitui County

6. Meru County

7. Machakos County

8. Kericho County

9. Taita Taveta County

10. Nakuru County

11. Nyeri County
