The official launching of 4s@scale Project

The 4S@Scale programme is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands (DGIS) between Hivos and ECOM. It is a 5 year programme that started in 2013 and ends in 2018.

Its focusing on improving the livelihoods of 90,000 small holder coffee farmers in East Africa using integrated farming systems.

This programme is based on sustainable coffee farming systems through the use of bio-slurry and income diversification efforts through dairy and/or horticulture.

Tharaka Nithi County Business Strategy (Consultative engagement for improved service delivery in Tharaka Nithi County)

Tharaka Nithi County Business strategy was prepared from the views and presentations of the business community from Tharaka Nithi County. Valuable input and reviews were provided by the Office of the Governor of Tharaka Nithi County. The Business strategy was compiled through the concerted efforts of a dedicated team of the Kenya National Farmers Federation (KENAFF) including: Phelix Rapando, Doris Ngure, Mercy Mburu, George Wakesho, Reginah Mwihia, and Stellah Nyaga.

Training Workshop on Human Right- Based Approach

The Federation will be holding a training workshop across the country to train its leadership and county staff on Human Right Based Approach. The purpose of the workshop is to build the capacity of the federation leaders and farmers to be able to recognize their rights’ violation, identify the right violation cases and specific actors who can resolve the issues. The right violation cases will be packaged and addresses through KENAFF lobby structures.
